Traction Control System with Electronic Stability Programme
ESP gives you the benefits of the TCS anti-spin system and helps to prevent any tendency to skid. ESP continuously compares the car's movements with your steering input. If the car shows any tendency to start a skid, the system brakes one or more wheels as necessary. The system may also reduce the throttle opening if this is necessary to help maintain controlled progress.
ABS Anti-lock Braking System
The ABS system senses if a wheel is about to lock up and eases the brake pressure on that wheel so it starts rotating again. As a result, the potential stopping distance is minimised while steering ability is retained.
Night Panel function
A unique Saab feature designed to facilitate night driving, reflecting our aircraft heritage. Press a button and the entire instrument panel except for the speedometer fades out. When a function requires your attention the relevant instrument immediately lights up.
Audio remote control on steering wheel
For Saab Audio systems. Let you operate the most frequent functions with your hands still on the the steering wheel. (Standard on cars with automatic transmission, optional with manual.)
Automatic Climate Control (ACC)
The dual-zone climate control allows the driver and passengers to select and maintain different temperature levels.
Saab Active Head Restraint (SAHR)
The active head restraints in the front seats help to reduce the risk of whiplash injuries. If the forces in a rear-end collision exceed a certain level, the head restraint is activated by the seat occupant's body weight. The head restraint moves upwards and forwards, thus cradling the head as it moves backwards.
Saab Audio System (AS1)with single slot CD player, 80w, 4 speakers
Radio and CD player with electronic touch controls. CD changer control. 80 W amplifier. 4 speakers. Can be operated via buttons set into the steering wheel. The system automatically alters the volume to suit changes in speed. Pre-wiring for CD changer. Steering wheel buttons are standard on all cars.
Saab Anti-theft Protection Alarm (ATA3) Category 1
A state-of-the art alarm system with a multitude of sensors including glass breaking and sensors in the doors and luggage compartment. The large number of rolling codes helps prevent unauthorised copying of the code. The ATA3 system also includes a tilt sensor that reacts if the car is lifted or towed away. The alarm can be automatically activated when the car is locked with the remote control.
